46 Mommas Call To Action from FaceBook

Hello Childhood Cancer Supporters~

As you know, 46 Mommas will be shaving their heads on September 21, in Washington, DC at Union Station during rush hour. This venue was carefully selected due to it's potential for raising a tremendous amount of awareness surrounding the need for childhood cancer research.

This date was also carefully selected. The Pediatric Cancer Caucus is Friday, September 23, in Washington, DC. The 46 Mommas have been asked to attend this amazing event. The presence of 46 Mommas at the Pediatric Cancer Caucus send a message, loud and clear, that Childhood Cancer matters and we will be heard.

People Against Childhood Cancer (PAC2) is holding a workshop on Thursday, September 22, in Washington, DC. Collaborating with the childhood cancer community. Via PAC2: "This Fall’s workshop will build on the success of the Spring 2011 Workshop by continuing to focus on significant issues and opportunities facing the childhood cancer community and how our community can collectively respond."

The childhood cancer community is bringing our cause to our nation's capital. This week of events will be a resounding call to action to every person who crosses our paths.

Along with the shave event, 46 Mommas will be hosting an invitation only, VIP "Ask Me Why I'm Bald" reception. This reception will run concurrently with the shave event. The purpose of 46 Mommas includes raising awareness. In order to do this on a large scale, we have invited celebrities, congressional representatives, media celebrities and key players from the world of childhood cancer research. These invitees can help us to further our cause of funding childhood cancer research. The need for a private space for these invitees is crucial. We cannot expect these honored guests to sit amongst the masses upon benches in front of the shave stage. The childhood cancer community needs their support and the support of the communities they represent. 46 Mommas are bringing it to Washington, DC.

Now we need you. We are falling short of the funds needed to cover the expense for this VIP reception. We need sponsors to help us cover the cost. We need a handful of sponsorships in the $250 - $500 range. All sponsorships are tax deductible and an In Kind donation to St Baldrick's.

We have nearly 9,500 FaceBook fans of 46 Mommas Shave For The Brave. We are asking that each and every one of you help us to fund this reception, in order to bring this phenomenal week of raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to Washington, DC.

This is our call to action. It's too late for our kids, the kids of tomorrow are counting on us.
